Brand Cards are your quick-reference guide for working with brands on Later Creator.
Before creating content or sharing a product link, you can review the brand’s Brand Card for information about commission rates, cookie duration, available promotions, non-commissionable products, promotional rules, and Terms & Conditions.
What Is a Brand Card?
A Brand Card is a brand profile available on Later Creator. It brings important information about promoting and earning commission with that brand into one place.
Depending on the brand, a Brand Card may include:
- Commission rates
- Commission rates by product category
- Cookie duration
- Promotional rules
- Content guidelines
- Brand Terms & Conditions
- Product- or category-specific rules
- Non-commissionable product information
- Available coupons or promotions
Where Can I Find a Brand Card?
You can access Brand Cards from the Brands section of your Later Creator dashboard.
- Open Brands
- Search or scroll for the brand you want to promote
- Select the brand to open its Brand Card
- Review the commission information, rules, promotions, and Terms & Conditions before promoting the brand
Understanding Commission Rates
The Commission section of a Brand Card shows the available commission information for that brand.
Some brands may display a single commission rate. For other brands, commission rates may vary by product category.
What Does “Up To” Mean?
If a Brand Card displays a rate such as “Up to 10%,” 10% is the maximum displayed commission rate. It does not mean every product or transaction earns 10%.
Different product categories may earn different rates. Other transaction circumstances can also affect the final commission. Be sure to review the category-level commission information and other rules on the Brand Card before promoting a product.
Can a Brand’s Commission Rate Change?
Yes. A brand may update its commission rate without notifying Later Creator.
Always review the Brand Card before promoting a product for the most recently available information. A displayed rate does not guarantee that the same rate will remain available for future transactions.
How Do I Know Whether a Product Is Commissionable?
Start with the brand’s Brand Card:
- Open the Brand Card for the brand you want to promote
-
Locate the Commission section
- Review the listed product categories and their corresponding commission rates, when available
- Check for additional rules or product-exclusion information associated with the category
- Review any available non-commissionable product document
The absence of a non-commissionable product list does not guarantee that every product is eligible for commission. Brands make the final determination about commission eligibility and may withhold commission.
Non-Commissionable Products
Some Brand Cards may include a document listing products or SKUs that are not eligible for commission. When this information is available, select the document icon on the Brand Card to review the list.
If a shopper purchases a product listed as non-commissionable through your link, you will not earn commission on that product.
A brand may still determine that a product or transaction is not eligible for commission even when no exclusion list is provided.
What Happens If an Order Contains Different Commission Rates?
An order may contain:
- Products with different commission rates
- Products that are not eligible for commission
- A combination of commissionable and non-commissionable products
In these cases, the commission you earn may differ from the maximum rate displayed on the Brand Card.
Review the transaction details in Analytics for more information about your earnings.
Why Is My Commission Lower Than the Rate on the Brand Card?
There are several reasons a transaction may earn less than the maximum commission rate displayed on a Brand Card:
- The purchased product belongs to a category with a lower commission rate.
- The order contains products with different commission rates.
- One or more products are not eligible for commission.
- The transaction is a non-monetary action, such as an account creation or sign-up.
- The transaction or part of the order was returned or reversed.
For additional troubleshooting, see Missing Transactions.
If the commission shown in Analytics still appears incorrect, contact Later Creator Support.
Understanding Cookie Duration
The Brand Card shows the brand’s cookie duration. Cookie duration indicates how long after a shopper clicks your link a qualifying purchase may be tracked for commission.
Cookie duration can vary by brand, so review this information before promoting a product.
Review Promotional Rules Before Sharing
Brand Cards may include promotional rules or content guidelines that affect how you can promote a brand.
Depending on the brand, these rules may address:
- Using promotional or discount codes
- Content requirements
- Product or promotion restrictions
- Requirements that may affect commission eligibility
Review the applicable rules before publishing content or sharing a link.
How Do Brand Cards and Terms & Conditions Work Together?
The Brand Card and the brand’s Terms & Conditions provide complementary information and are not expected to conflict.
The Brand Card provides detailed information such as:
- Commission rates
- Category-level commission information
- Non-commissionable product lists
- Available coupons or promotions
The Terms & Conditions outline best practices and requirements for promoting the brand.
Review both sources before promoting a brand. If their information appears inconsistent, contact Later Creator Support for clarification rather than choosing one source over the other.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do all brands use the same commission rates and rules?
No. Commission rates, cookie durations, promotional rules, and other requirements can vary by brand. Review the Brand Card and Terms & Conditions for the specific brand you want to promote.
Does the absence of an exclusion list mean every product is commissionable?
No. The absence of a non-commissionable product list does not guarantee that every product qualifies. Brands make the final determination about commission eligibility.
Can I use a discount code with my Later Creator link?
Promotional rules vary by brand. Review the Brand Card and applicable Terms & Conditions before combining a promotional code with your link.
Can a brand change its commission rate?

What should I do if the Brand Card or my commission information appears incorrect?
